Churches


Most religions are represented.
St Mary The Virgin is the parish church for Potters Bar. It was built in 1916 replacing the former church of St John The Baptist.
King Charles The Martyr is situated on the corner of Dugdale Hill Lane and Mutton Lane. It is relatively new building(!) dated to the 1930s.
St Giles at South Mimms was the mother church for many centuries. There is sister church, St Margarets, Ridge.
St Mary’s, North Mymms is the mother church for the North Mymms Parish.
Christ Church, Little Heath was built in 1893.
There were two Roman Catholic Churches in Potters Bar but this have now been merged into one with a fascinating building in Mutton Lane.
The United Reformed Church is situated in Darkes Lane opposite Heath Drive.
In Barnet Road, the Baptist church is well established next to their orignial building dating from…
St Thomas a Becket at Northaw stands on the site on two previous churches.
